Darkwing (Book): Oppel, Kenneth: Dusk, the world's first bat, must lead his colony to safety in a time of changing species. Comics. There are six "series" of Darkwing Duck comics in existence. The first two, a genuine comic book series and the collection of comics published in the Disney Adventures magazine, are products of Disney Comics. The comic book series was cut short and lasted only for a handful of months in and , containing two adaptions of cartoon episodes spread over six parts.

Epic book Kenneth! As a prologue to Silverwing, it was extremely well written and nearly as good as Silverwing. It was a gripping page turner right to the end. The one thing I hated was the cliff hanger at the end but it is still an awesome book!/5(19). Darkwing was an interesting book. I have never read a book from a bats prospective and i thought it was a good take on the story. I felt this book had a lot of adventure and some sad and happy parts. In this book a bat named Dusk is different,he can fly. Since he was born he wanted to flap his wings instead of glide/5.

Considerably larger than the three books in the Silverwing saga, Darkwing should be treated as being completely separated from these books.

It's a prequel by about sixty-five million years. Told from the perspective of two characters, Dusk (a chiropter) and Carnassial (a felid), Darkwing delves into the forbidden realm of evolution/5(40).

Darkwing may refer to. Darkwing, a novel by Kenneth Oppel; The Dark Wing, a science fiction novel by Walter H. Hunt; Darkwing Duck, Disney cartoon character; Darkwing, a fictional bat monster associated with Kamen Rider Knight.

The first story arc from the Darkwing Duck comic book published by Boom. Studios: The Duck Knight Returns. Disney Comics published a four-issue Darkwing Duck comic book mini-series in lateright around the time of the show's syndicated mini-series was an adaptation of a draft of the script for "Darkly Dawns the Duck".Audio format: Stereo.

This book can either be seen as a first book in a new series or as the 4th in an old series, written as a prequel. If it is a prequel it might be a record-breaker for time span. For Darkwing is a book set 65 million years ago. It is the story of a bat named Dusk, who does not know that he is a bat.5/5(4).

Due to /5(45). Does that make Darkwing a sober, sedate read. Absolutely not. Because this is a story about bats. Better yet, prehistoric bats. – Globe & Mail (Toronto) This is a thrilling page-turner that will captivate young and old alike.

Oppel’s consummate skill at inhabiting the minds of non-human creatures is on stunning display here as Dusk’s. Darkwing. 1, likes 1 talking about this. Prunge into dark, fly into light #darkwing 5/5.

This book can either be seen as a prequel to the Silverwing trilogy, or as this reviewer hopes, the first in a new series about the bats from long ago. Either way Darkwing is a book to be enjoyed again and again. (First Published in Imprint as 'Imprint's Reading' )/5(33).

He has only two claws instead of three, weak legs, unusually strong chest and shoulder muscles and the ability to see in the dark.

And where other chiropters glide, he has the urge to flap his sails. He is a pre-bat, perched on a new branch of evolution. In the age when the saurians are dying out and mammals are on the rise, Dusk is a new kind of animal. I found Darkwing to be excessively violent and fairly disturbing.

There's definitely a Darwinian theme running through the book; everything seems to be killing and eating everything else. If you can overlook the violence, Darkwing is a fairly readable and enjoyable book.

Readers of animal fantasy who aren't disturbed by the violence, and especially fans of Oppel's other books, will probably 4/5(9).

Directed by Tad Stones, Alan Zaslove. With Jim Cummings, Terence McGovern, Christine Cavanaugh, Dan Castellaneta. Darkwing finally gets what's he's always wanted. A comic book based on his superhero exploits. Not being what he expected however, he decides to write it himself/10(1).

If you haven’t read that series, and you have found yourself wanting something to replace the hole in your heart that Darkwing gave, (I sure have) I would strongly recommend those books.

(There’s around 15 books + 2 graphic novels in that series, and also a new book gets added like every 6 months or so, so it’ll be a while before to run /5(58).Disneys Darkwing Duck - Birth of Negaduck (VHS, ) Calculate Shipping.
